Oxygen and Your Heart

11205_1-300x300I tell my patients on oxygen (and those who are supposed to be on o2 but refuse) to always protect your heart. When your oxygen levels dip too low, it is your heart that works harder to supply the vital organs and the muscles with what little oxygen is left in your bloodstream.

Your heart is also a muscle, requiring lots of oxygen. Skimping on oxygen not only makes it work harder, which requires more oxygen,  but puts you at risk for a heart attack.

You’ll never build strength and conditioning by short-changing your muscles of oxygen.

Muscles need fuel (food) and oxygen to work at their peak. If you have been prescribed oxygen for exercise, use it every time, even just to walk across your yard. J
Always looking out for you,
