The Top 10 Mistakes People with COPD, IPF, and Asthma Make, Part One!

Are you making  these 3 mistakes right now? Your life could depend on taking care of these things, sooner rather than later.

Mistake #!: Eating Large meals.

Eating large meals fills up the stomach, which in turn limits the diaphragm’s ability to contract, thereby limiting your ability to take a deep breath.  Choose smaller meals with healthy snacks in between.

Mistake #2: Not having a support system

You do not need to walk through this alone! As you educate yourself about your lung disease, you will also be able to educate family and friends as to what you need and how you feel. Most people WANT to help you in any way they can. They just don’t know how.

Mistake #3: Not knowing your drug list

This one is crucial.  Many of you have several doctors, and believe me, they don’t all talk. Make a list of ALL of your medications, including inhaled meds, eye drops, and vitamin or mineral supplements. Post this list on your refrigerator, in case EMS has to

come find you. Keep a list on your person, and take it with you EVERYWHERE YOU GO. Update it frequently. Take this list to every doctor you visit.
